5 Months Old!

Somehow Max turned 5 months old yesterday!  I'm not really sure how this happened since it's just not possible that he was born 5 months ago already!

Max is a great baby, 90% of the time he is very content and very happy! He loves to spend time in his jumper, tolerates tummy time pretty well, loves when we help him "stand" and when we help him sit up.  He is a big guy! When I weighed him at Ella's appt on Monday he weighs 19 pounds. Nineteen. That is only 3 pounds less than Ella. It is very hard to carry him in his car seat anymore, so I am really hoping that he can sit on his own soon :)

 

Max loves his big sister, he continues to always smile when she is around, he loves to laugh at almost anything. He is wearing size 6 months, but I'm starting to wonder about putting him in 9 month clothes as some things are already tight. He is wearing a size 3 diaper.

Max is still a good sleeper - typically sleeps until 8 or 9 in the morning, and we are working on getting him to bed eariler, he was going down around 11, but we are working on about 9:30 now. We have starting to give him his last bottle right after we get Ella down, which is typically by 8:30.

Happy Second Birthday, Little Princess!

Last week our sweet little Ella turned 2 years old!

I did, of course, make her take a picture with the bear, it went about as well as it will 16 years from now, although at that time she will probably just have some annoyed fake smile to go with it. She typically wants to crash Max's photo shoots, but she didn't really want anything to do with her own, but I managed 1 good one.

Ella is such a sweetheart, she doesn't always listen, and she does have fits, but she mostly aims to help and to please. She likes to get things for Max, give hugs and kisses, she LOVES to be outside (even more so if she gets to play in water). I'm always amazed by what she is figuring out and what she is learning to climb on. She currently loves to do buckles, such as the one in her car seat or high chair. She knows lots of animal noises, can say how old she is, and loves to comb her hair.

She says her best friend is Molly ("mowie") and that her favorite animal is a camel (I'm not sure why... but she started that one day and never stopped). She loves to chase Zoe and give Lucky hugs and treats, she still loves to play in Lucky's water bowl... but we are (still) working on that. She hates bows and pony tails and doesn't always like to get dressed. Right now she loves to bring me a pillow and say "Mommy pillow, Mommy nap" and then put another pillow down and say "Ella pillow, Ella nap" - this usually lasts about 10 seconds, but is repeated many times each day :)

 Newborn / 1 Year / 2 Years

At Ella's Dr. Appt yesterday she weighed 22lbs, and was 32" tall, this puts her in the 5th percentile. She is small, but healthy :) She currently wears anything from 12 month to 2T depending on the fit and brand, she wears a size 5 shoe and and size 4 diaper.

This weekend we had all of her grandparents over for a little birthday celebration, we had a great time, the weather could have been a bit better, but Ella (and Max!) loved all the attention.

Four Months!

Yesterday Max turned 4 months old! I am posting a day late because we went to the doctor today to get his updated stats.

At 4 months old Max weighs 17lbs. 5oz. (85th percentile), is 25.25 inches tall (50th percentile) and is in the 90th percentile for head - he is a big little boy! He actually weighs only 6 pounds less than Ella did today - lol! He still has a few 3 month sized clothes that fit him, but he is pretty much only wearing size 6 month now.  As of yesterday we switched him to size 3 diapers... we just happened to run out of size 1-2 on his birthday :)

Max is such a good little boy! He is pretty content 90% of the time and is happy to just hang out while we go on errands or the the park - we are so lucky! He still takes 4 8oz bottles a day and continues to be a great sleeper. We need to work on getting him to bed earlier, he is still up until about 10:30, but he has been sleeping until about 7:30-8 lately, which is wonderful!

He is such a happy little guy, it is very easy to get him to smile and giggle. He loves when his big sister is around, he smiles so big when he sees her! And lately she has been showing him all her favorite toys and books, which he loves! He is an expert at rolling from his back to his tummy, but no so much from his tummy to his back. He gets frustrated when he gets stuck on his tummy, but when you roll him back, he just rolls right over again - it is cute and frustrating at the same time! He still loves sitting in the bumbo as well :)
