Little Cabbage Patch

We had a rough night here last night, Ella decided that she didn't want to sleep.  She took a long time to finally fall asleep last night and then was up at about 3 for an hour and half, and then just about every hour after that.  Needless to say, I'm a tired mommy today!  Here's to hoping for much better results tonight!

So, we had a pretty lackluster day around here, however Ella was wearing some adorable overalls so I took lots of pictures!

I thought she looked like a little Cabbage Patch doll
Today she discovered herself in the mirror and made some smiles :)

She has discovered that she LOVES "standing", she is very strong and pushes her self up and stay that way for awhile before sitting back down for a break but then she will pop right back up!  Standing her up is a good way to get her to stop fussing these days.

And if shes not standing.. she's sitting like a big girl...

Another favorite is "football hold" with Daddy...

And a little video for Mom :)

Olympic Swimmers?

Today we met up with Jim and Lisa to take doggies Lana and Lucky swimming, it was a nice day at the dog beach.  Watching some more Olympic action tonight and fighting off a headache, so this will be short and sweet.

Port Washington

We had a really nice day today!  Nick got some yard work done while I got a little housework done and Ella had some tummy time.  Her head control just keeps getting better - plus her little expressions are just so cute!  I didn't quite capture it in the video but I'm sure my mom will enjoy it anyway ;)

Ella fell asleep while playing on Mommy and Daddy's bed today with Daddy.  I thought she looked like such a big girl here!  I just love her little chubby legs!

After dinner we took a sunset outing to Port Washington to walk on the pier.  It was a great evening and the breeze was very refreshing and Lake Michigan was beautiful - reminded me of home.

Sunset and marina behind us
Ella slept in her carrier the whole way.  I have tried out her carrier around the house but this was our first outing with it and it worked great!  I know Grandpa Boehm isn't a fan - but we would have never made it out on this rocky pier without it.

Beautiful view, calm lake
At the end of the windy pier
It was strange to realize that the sunset would not be over the lake, I still have a hard time remembering that in Wisconsin Lake Michigan is to the east since all my life Lake Michigan has been to the west.  I really struggle with directions here for that reason because it is engrained in my memory to say/think that the lake is to the west.

Port Washington has several charter fishing boats that dock there and when we got back to the marina one had just gotten back their catch, it was fun to see some of the bounty of the Great Lakes.

We are home now relaxing and watching some Olympic action!

Happy Birthday Auntie Mel!

Today Ella had a photo shoot for Aunt Mel's birthday, it took quite a few takes but we finally got some smiles!  Mel made the giraffe for us and this was Ella's first impression, as you can see she warmed up to him.

On our way to my doctor appointment today I saw this car which is one of the worst offenses of one of my pet peeves I have seen.  First of all, it is OKAY to cover up the previous year sticker.  And second of all it is NOT OKAY to cover up your actual license plate number.  I feel that this problem is worse in Wisconsin than other states... Nick does not agree with me though, so who knows.

Ok, rant over.  Our trip to the doctor is the reason Ella was sporting her Green and White today, my OB is a MSU alum and I wanted to get a picture of them together.  I think she appreciated the Sparty gear, since we are in Badger land here.

We also went to visit Daddy at work today, she is a baby on the go!  Not a lot else going on, we are pretty excited for the Olympics to start tonight!  We will have to wear our red, white and blue again this weekend!  Oh - and Zoe tried to help me with some facebooking today ;)

*Edited to add... I just walked out to this nap time <3

Fuzzie Loves

The fuzzies have started coming around to Ella a little more, I think our week away and then return with Ella made them realize she is really sticking around!

Not the best picture, but Zoe cuddled on the couch with Ella and I the other day, this was a big step for Zoe!  Up until now she had stayed pretty far away but it seems like she has started to re-join the family :)

Yesterday Lucky and Ella had some tummy time together, Lucky came and laid down right next to her all on her own!  It was quite cute.  She has also become rather protective and stays pretty close to Ella at all times.  After tummy time we were all pretty tired and took a nap - Lucky likes lots of snuggles!

Today Ella had bath time - which she loves!  Then we went to Target and the grocery store (if only we had a Meijer!) since there wasn't much in the house to eat.  We have gotten pretty good at solo outings without Daddy, the car usually puts her right to sleep and then she stays asleep though the shopping.  The only trouble is figuring out the logistics of car seat in and out of the car and stroller vs. shopping cart, but each trip gets easier!

Tonight Nick is at the Brewers game with work so Ella and I are spending the day together - thankfully she has been behaving herself! :)

Happy 1 Month Ella!

Although her birthday was one week ago, today was Ella's 1 month doctor appointment!  She is doing really well and the doctor said she was a really good baby and that we were very lucky - but we already knew that!

Ella at one month you weigh 11 pounds and are 22" tall - this puts you in the 90th percentile!  You wear size 3-6 month clothes and a size 1 diaper.  You have started smiling and cooing and you are happy to see your daddy when he gets home from work!  We love you very much!

Yesterday I woke up to this big smile!
We have switched Ella to soy formula because it turns out she is lactose intolerant like her mommy was.  She seems to be doing much better now so hopefully she will continue to be a happy little (big?) baby.  The last couple of nights she has been sleeping in 6 hour stretches so that has been amazing!  She is holding her head up more and more now and loves to look at the ceiling fan (which is a nice distraction in the morning so Mommy can get ready!).

Sporting some cute cherries!
