Ella and Zoe

Reacntly Ella has started to try and say Zoe's name all the time, it is really cute and she usually says "ooooeeee" or adds a little of a d/z sound to it like "doe-eeee". Zoe has even let her pet her a few times... But not too often :)

Anyway, I don't typically let Ella play with the iPad, but on occasion I do, typically when I'm trying to get ready after she is up. She sits on the bed and I have an app that has little drawings of animals:

And then when you touch one it shows and real picture and makes the animal sound:

 

Today she did the cat over and over and over and just kept squeeling "ooooeee!" "ooooeee!" "ooooeee!"

She is a little cat lover :)

 

2 Months Old!

It is so hard to believe that Max is already 2 months old!

He is a really good baby and pretty go with the flow, for the most part he is very content with Ella's chaos all around him.  His fussy hour seems to be from 8 or 8:30 till bedtime at 9:30 or 10, but he usually just wants to be snuggled and that is after Ella is in bed so it works out alright.

He is starting to be more awake during the day now and likes to look all around and be tickled, we have gotten some pretty cute laughs out of him and lots of smiles - which are adorable :)

We take Max to the Dr. on Monday so I don't have an official height and weight, but I think he is probably still going to be in the 80th or 90th percentile.  He is totally in 3 months clothes now and wearing a Costco size 1-2 diaper.

He takes a 6 oz. bottle every 4.5 - 5 hours.  He still gets up around 3am and then again at 7.  We have had a few nights in the last month where he has slept till 4 or 5 but it is still pretty rare, strangely, even when he does that he still gets up at 7 every day.  Mommy could use a little more sleep, so hopefully he will be extending that sooner rather than later :)

One and two month comparison:

Ella is still a great big sister she likes to try and 'help' a lot and he is always willing to give him kisses.  She often times will hand me the burp cloth if she finds it on a table or floor, she likes to try and burp Max too, and she still loves to give him toys, which we still need to work on gentle - but I'm just glad she is willing to share :)

Big Sister Love

This happend last week, but it's so cute it's worth sharing :)

 

Typically in the morning I get Max up and changed and then lay him back in his crib while I get Ella up and then we all go downstairs. One day I decided to bring Max into Ella's room with me, as soon as I walked in she jumped and started saying "Max!" "Max!" and pointing into her crib... So I laid him down in there with her.

 

 

She was so excited to have her brother in bed with her :) and she was pretty upset when I picked her up!

 

Hopefully she will always love being a big sister!

 

Max is 1 Month Old!

So much for staying on top of blogging!  Instead of feeling like I need to re-cap everything I'm just going to move forward!

Maxwell Edward joined our family on January 27th at 11:08am!  He weighed in at 8lbs, 5oz and 20.5" tall, we are so happy that he is here and this last month went by so so fast!  I can hardly believe this was one month ago already!

So far Ella seems to love being a big sister, which was such a worry for me before he was born.  She loves to give him kisses and to bring him her toys and "share" things with him.  Although I'm very glad she is so helpful... to her sharing sometimes means dropping things on him, so we are working on that!  However, the transition has been easier than I feared.  She has thankfully continued to sleep through the night even when we are up with Max in the next room.

I have said right from the beginning that Max and Ella are little twins.. some people are starting to agree with me... but they look so very similar to me!  Max is just a little blondie :)

Max at one month old weighs 11lbs, 2oz (80th%) and is 22" tall (70th%), he is currently transitioning into 3 month clothes, although some newborn things still fit, it really depends on the brand.  And (what a surprise) 3 months pants are too long, so he mostly wears newborn pants :)

He takes a 5 oz bottle every 4 hours - like clockwork.  This means he is still getting up twice during the night, or just once if you like getting up for the day at 6 am ;)  Most nights he goes right back to sleep after the 2 am feeding, but sometimes he likes to be difficult and takes his time... hopefully we will get past this stage before too long!

2 under 2 is not always easy... but I sure hope they grow up to be good buddies.  We feel pretty lucky to be their Mommy and Daddy :)
