12 Months Old!

It is hard to believe but Ella is officially 1 YEAR OLD!  (and has been for a week and a day now....)

This little girl is busy, busy, BUSY!  It was incredibly hard to get her picture this month, we got a lot that look like this:

and this:

and she tried to destroy the paper:

So we did our best!

We went to the doctor last week and Ella weighs 18 pounds and is 28.25" tall.  This puts her in the 15th percentile for each.  She started so big (95th percentile when she was born) but has really tapered off.  She is still a great eater though, so her doctor is not worried.  Ella wears mostly 9 month clothes still... she actually has some 6 month things that still fit and a FEW 12 month things that fit pretty well.  Still in a size 3 diaper.

This little girl HATES sitting still.  For anything.  Getting dressed and diaper changes are like a wrestling match... she is always on the go.  She loves to explore and check things out.  She LOVES Lucky.  She giggles anytime Lucky comes nearby and she likes to 'pet' her.  Which at this point is more hitting... but we are working on that.  And Lucky is pretty good with all of it for the most part... which is probably because she knows that Ella gives her lots of 'treats' during breakfast, lunch and dinnertime.

Getting some books out

We are working on switching Ella over from soy formula to regular whole milk, we are on day three of the transition of slowly adding milk to her bottle and so far it is going well.  Her favorite foods are: blueberries, watermelon, peas and soy yogurt.  But she eats almost all fruits and veggies without a problem.  Little sweetie has 10 teeth!!!  4 in front on the top and 4 on the bottom, and I can feel that 2 top molars have come through as well - one on each side!

Returning home from vacation kinda messed up our great bedtime routine.  She takes awhile to go down these days, but once she is she sleeps until around 11 the next morning.  Which is nice for this new stay at home Mom ;)  I am not looking forward to our bedtime routine being destroyed after out next two upcoming trips...

Happy Birthday Ella!

Saturday we had Ella's first birthday party!  We had been at my parents house in Michigan the whole week prior - we had surprised my mom on her last, last day of school ever - you can watch that video here: http://youtu.be/0aQnaEwmTMU

Being in town for the week allowed us to help with the planning and prep work.  I'm so glad we were able to have the party at my parents... it allowed so many more family members to be able to attend... not to mention my Dad probably has the nicest grass and yard in all of Michigan. :)

We are so thankful that so many people made it out to celebrate!  What a great family we have!
