Missing Ella

So, I knew that once I went back to work keeping up with the blog would be hard... but I didn't know just how busy I would be!  It is hard to find time, so I apologize!

I just got back form a work conference in Chicago for a couple days and I am happy to be back and to just get to be Mommy for the weekend!  I missed my little bear so much!  And Daddy had the house all clean when I got home - a very nice surprise, and I am not sure how he had the time to do it!

I got a couple picture messages while I was away:

Ella continues to do great!  She has started to sleep through the night again which is really wonderful - we are all much more well rested and happier now :)

Ella contineus to be on the verge of crawling and sitting up on her own - she is truly amazing in so many ways :)

And with that I'll leave you with a picture from 80's night at my conference - complete with Mel's orginal 1980's crimper.

The Big Day

Yesterday was a pretty big day around here.

I had to venture back to work, which meant that it was little Miss Isabelle's first day at day care.  It was hard but we made it with no tears!  I had a lot of anxiety on Monday but Nick reassured me that they would take good care of her.  For some reason the drive in was the hardest part but once we got there I felt ok about it all.  She was already smiling at Miss Anna by the time I left, so I think that helped.

It was one day payroll at work, which means super busy, so the day really went by pretty quick.  I hung up lots of pictures at my desk and even got to go out to lunch.  When I went to pick her up she was smiling and happy to see me!  They said that she did really well and was talking and smiling all day. :)  That night she was super talkative and happy and telling me all about what a good day she had - so I'm pretty sure she is in good hands!

Today would have gone just as well, except someone (AKA me) got all the way there and then realized the nicely prepared and labeled bottles were still at home in the fridge.  So I had to drive all the way home to get them.  In order to prevent making the same mistake twice I decided to enact the 'chip clip system' a la Grandma and Grandpa's View.

And in fuzzie news... a kitty thought that she found a good hiding place... fail!

Hiatus

The blog will be on a temporary hiatus until late next week because we are packing up the car and heading north!  I am so excited that I will be spending the next week looking at this view...

The last two days have been super stressful and busy as Nick has been gone allllll day with a work conference.  The funny thing about living near corporate is that he would normally fly to Milwaukee for these meetings and be totally gone... it seemed like it would be awesome to live here so he would be "home" when there were meetings, but I still don't end up seeing him until 9:30-10 because they have evening events planned for everyone.

Ella and I have been busy doing laundry, packing, planning and grocery shopping.  Tomorrow we have to spend the morning dropping off the fuzzies at their respective boarding places and then wait for Nick to get home, finish packing and hit the road!  Here's to hoping she can enjoy a 7 hour car ride!

Poor Lucky

Last night we noticed that Lucky had small sore on the side of her face.  She needed to get into the vet anyway, so I put it on my list to call them in the morning to get her in this weekend when Nick could go with me.  Fast forward to this morning and I woke up to a much larger oozing sore, I was so sad for my puppers!  I called the vet and thankfully they were able to get us in today at 5:20 so Nick was still able to come along.  They had to give her a shave around it so that it stays clean and she is now on some meds 3 times a day, but she should be healed up in no time!  Apparently it looks much worse than it is, and the vet said it is really very small.  So poor puppy is resting up.

Apparently Ella was tired yesterday too because she slept really good last night, only was up once and went back to sleep pretty quickly after that.  So we are feeling much more rested today, although my headache is still hanging on.  I need Excedrin to get back in production!  **News Flash!  I decided to do a quick Google search and its back!  YES! Proof here **

Today I wrapped up a little project I did to frame some antique keys we had but had no real way to display.  I took a $2 frame from Ikea, sanded it down, put the keys in it and backed it with a scrap of fabric and displayed it.  I left it like that for a few days but Nick and I both thought it was too white, so today I painted the mat that came with it to give it a little color.  I'm not totally convinced its the right color, but I'll leave it for a bit and see if I come up with something better.

Before
After

Nick loves coming home to cuddle with his Ella... sometimes Lucky gets a little jealous and wants to cuddle too, especially after the day she had today.

Olympic Swimmers?

Today we met up with Jim and Lisa to take doggies Lana and Lucky swimming, it was a nice day at the dog beach.  Watching some more Olympic action tonight and fighting off a headache, so this will be short and sweet.

Fuzzie Loves

The fuzzies have started coming around to Ella a little more, I think our week away and then return with Ella made them realize she is really sticking around!

Not the best picture, but Zoe cuddled on the couch with Ella and I the other day, this was a big step for Zoe!  Up until now she had stayed pretty far away but it seems like she has started to re-join the family :)

Yesterday Lucky and Ella had some tummy time together, Lucky came and laid down right next to her all on her own!  It was quite cute.  She has also become rather protective and stays pretty close to Ella at all times.  After tummy time we were all pretty tired and took a nap - Lucky likes lots of snuggles!

Today Ella had bath time - which she loves!  Then we went to Target and the grocery store (if only we had a Meijer!) since there wasn't much in the house to eat.  We have gotten pretty good at solo outings without Daddy, the car usually puts her right to sleep and then she stays asleep though the shopping.  The only trouble is figuring out the logistics of car seat in and out of the car and stroller vs. shopping cart, but each trip gets easier!

Tonight Nick is at the Brewers game with work so Ella and I are spending the day together - thankfully she has been behaving herself! :)
